Change to Inventor 2017 SP1 or R2 Fill/Hatch Region in Drawings

Hello everybody, this is a small change that I have come across with one of our customers, in the service pack 1 or R2 Release of Inventor 2017. It’s not easy to see in the patch notes and could leave you scratching your head if you’re unaware.

It relates to “Fill/Hatch Region” function and the various “Patterns” and “Solids”. Basically, we are all used to seeing the following Dialogue box when selecting out “Hatch Patterns”.

However in the SP1 and R2 Release of Inventor 2017, the “Fill” button has disappeared.

No need to worry, the feature is still there but it’s actually now contained within the Pattern dropdown selection menu.

The workflows we use may periodically change but it’s just a matter of knowing where to look.
