I have discussed in past blogs about Quality and construction and the importance of reducing risk during the build process. I used BIM 360 Field to demonstrate this. This time I would like to discuss the use of BIM 360 Glue as part of the Quality process.
When we look at BIM 360 Glue we tend to place its functionality in the pre-construction phase. We think about clash avoidance and model coordination during the design phase of a project. BIM 360 Glue has some great functionality to enhance quality. The notification process allows site personnel to communicate as-built information back to the design team. Consider that not all issues or snags can be resolved by the site contractors and therefore we can use BIM 360 Glue instead of BIM 360 Field.

Markups and messages can be can be sent straight to the designers and Quality engineers as the information is gathered on site. Design and installation can be reviewed and avoid roadblocks.

The designers can review the site messages and if necessary either know their design is being installed correctly or if a problem does occur, they can use the Issue process in BIM 360 Field to notify the contractors involved.
Autodesk BIM 360 Glue provides a quick and easy method of communicating from site to office to keep the coordination between design and installation on track enhancing the quality of the deliverable and reduce risk.
