Using schedules to manage components in Revit

Autodesk Revit is a powerful software which supports a BIM workflow from the initial concepts to the construction of the project. Revit models enable you to design with precision, optimise performance and collaborate seamlessly between teams. Due to the complexity of the projects, Revit has included features that will allow us to view and manage components.

On this tutorial, I will talk about how the schedules function will be extremely helpful to manage parts of the model. The Schedule function allows you to schedule out any of the categories for the components that have been placed on the model e.g. furniture, doors, windows etc.

Sometimes when we create a schedule in Revit, some of the information will be missing from the fields that have been selected. Occasionally, you may find one or more components in your model needs to be corrected as they may have been placed with the wrong size or as wrong component type. Rather than going back to a plan view or elevation to change the component we can do it right there, in the schedule.
