ISA Sports City, Bahrain
ISA Sports City is a major construction project that aims to harness the Olympic ambitions of the kingdom's sport lovers. While many aspects of the entire BD40 m project are only just commencing, it is the recently completed Hall A, in the shape of a doughnut and featuring a six-lane athletics track circumventing a large open ground that will play host to handball, that has caught the imagination.
Goodwood Festival of Speed Structure
Designed by Gerry Judah and fabricated by Capita Bobrowski this sculpture was the centre piece of the Goodwood 2008 Festival of speed.
Isle of Sheppey Crossing
Constructed by Cass Hayward LLP and standing at 1.27 km long this structure had to overcome complex construction conditions. These were subsequently recognised when the bridge recieved the BCSA Award 2007.
City Island Development Leeds
Capita Symonds were responsable for Civil and Structural Engineering services on this £32m project. The idiosyncratic layout due to the curved building shape left SuperSUITE as the obvious choice of software for the project.
Crossing two major drainage canals this $150m project carried out by independent consultant Gordon Belton and Halcrow Asia used SuperSUITE to model grillages and heslab structure.
St James' Hospital
Designed by Faber Maunsell using SuperSTRESS this project upon its official opening on the 17July 2008 became one of Europe's largest cancer centres.
In the case of the A380 overbridge SuperSTRESS was used by Devon County Council to help plan a construction project with minimal delays.
The Hungerford Bridge has a quirky history; originally built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel but then replaced in 1864 by a railway bridge that sat on Brunel's original brick butresses. After a number of refurbishments and extensions throughout the 20th Century, the Golden Jubliee Footbridges, the latest update was completed in 2002. SuperSTRESS was used to model this incredibly complex project.

The result of a competition run for the Royal Institute of British Architects the bridge. The Complex geometry involved to create this aesthetically impressive structure was handled by Graitec UK's SuperSTRESS.
From 2002 to 2004 the Avonmouth bridge, which carries the M5 to Bristol was upgraded so that its capacity could be increased. Hyder Consulting assisted the Highways agency in widening and strengthening the bridge.
Bluewater Shopping Centre
Bluewater is the UK's second largest shopping centre, with 1.6million square feet of retail space. However for the Waterman Partnership the size was not the only construction issue; the intricate roof, atrium and facade also needed to be modelled and quickly.
South Quay Footbridge
The design requirements for the South Quay footbridge in Canary Wharf necessitated an extremely adaptable bridge that would become two seperate bridges once long term construction plans for Canary Wharf had been completed.
Lords Cricket School
Improvements to Lords Cricket School bought the centre inline with international standards giving Cricketers a World class practice area for out of season months. The roof was designed by Price and Myers using SuperSUITE to be both architecturally striking and functional.
When it opened in 1994 the Pepsi Max was the Worlds tallest and steepest rollercoaster. Even after 15 years the rollercoaster can still claim to be the UK's tallest ride standing at 235ft. For Allott and Lomax extensive difficulties came as the rollercoaster has to be designed around other buildings and for this they used SuperSUITE.
Kingston Crown Court
For Kyle Steward Limited, now part of the Hollandsche Beton Group, Graitec UK's SuperSUITE software helped facilitate important advances in increasing productivity and their competitiveness in going after tendered projects.
Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre
The Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre provided the Fordham and Johns Partnership an interesting professional diversion, however there were a number of aspects of the project that were anything but normal; thus SuperSUITE was used as it had the flexibility to cope with the demands of the project.
