SuperSTRESS Tip 4 Non-Linearity
The fourth of our user tips involves SuperSTRESS' non-linear capability. There are three main areas of SuperSTRESS which are non-linear, one way acting supports, compression / tension only members and, which is shown below, Large Displacements.

If you have a job which has large displacements you may achieve more accurate results by using the Large Displacements option when analysing

Go to Tools>>Settings and select the "Analysis" tab, then check the "Large Displacements" tick box, changing the settings if needed

Then run the analysis again and you should observe different results

In the example above the maximum values for DX displacement reduce from 1403.2 mm to 1393.2 mm
