A lot of you are probably wondering what Autodesk Cloud Credits are and some of you might not have realised you had them to begin with, so with this blog post I'm going to give you an overview of what they are.
Cloud credits are essentially a unit of measure you get in order to use the cloud service which enables you to then perform numerous tasks such as rendering and simulation until they run out; at which point you can purchase more if need be.
If you have Maintenance or desktop subscription then you get a one off, 100 individual cloud credits which is given to each named user. These are not transferable though between different users and they will automatically be given because of the commercial relationship with Autodesk. Cloud Credits will be available to users for as long as your contract lasts; they are not available for purchase and/or renewal once they have been used up.
Alternatively, you can get shared cloud credits and these aren't given as part of maintenance or desktop subscription. These need to be purchased so that you can receive more credits and also run the Autodesk Cloud Service. Whoever is a named user on the contract will be able to use the cloud credits but they will expire after 12 months or as long as the contract remains active.
Of course depending on the size of your project and what quality you want to render, simulate etc. at will depend on the amount of cloud credits that will be used. Rendering can range from 1 cloud credit per MB where as simulation can go to as high as 100 cloud credits depending on what you want to do.
