Inventor 2014 Launch & User Group Update

Inventor-2014-Launch-venueThe Inventor 2014 launch and user group event took place once again at the Ageas Bowl and was very well attended by both experienced long term and new Inventor user’s eager to learn about newer functions of the software and how to maximise their Autodesk investment.

With more and more functionality being added to the Autodesk Product Design Suite offerings, part of the day also explored workflows and additional software contained within the various suites along with an overview of Autodesk PLM 360 software and its associated business benefits.

As there was a lot of information to digest from the day so you can download quick reminder as to what now comes in the box (so to speak) as standard, and a what’s new summary by clicking on the image below.

User-group09Part of the event also focused on data capture and rapid prototyping as these methodologies are increasingly becoming a larger part of design workflows across many sectors ranging from BIM for manufacturing and as built modification to product development and digital prototyping.

The exhibitors on the day were kept very busy with 3T RPD Ltd providing an intriguing array of sample projects using both plastic and metal Additive Manufacturing techniques, Optical Survey Equipment demonstrating the usage and advantages using point cloud data and Medtec Design Services discussing reverse engineering and digital data capture.

On the hardware front both HP and Nvidia were represented and showcased the latest HP workstations and Nvidia Cad Graphics card technology highlighting the importance and productivity of dedicated CAD hardware and also 3Dconnexion showing the benefits and productivity of using their highly successful 3D space mice range.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank 3T RPD, Nvidia, and 3Dconnexion for their generosity and donation of prizes for the day which were well received by the winners.
