This tutorial will take you through the process of transforming the circuit references in Revit. To start with we are going to create two new parameters for Phase and Way using a shared parameter file. For those of you that aren’t familiar, a shared parameter file is a ‘text’ file that holds pre-created custom parameter information that can be used in a project to create project parameters, in a family to create family parameters, and are also the only way the custom parameter can be added to a tag or title block label.
Shared parameters are found on the manage tab under settings. Below you can see them next to ‘Project Parameters’ which we’ll look at further on. The 3 scenarios when working with shared parameters are as follows.
1. If you don’t already have one, you can create a new shared parameter file, and save it in a location where all users can access it. Start adding your parameters.
2. You have one that’s not linked. Find out where it is using browse and add it in. Start adding your parameters.
3. The shared parameter file is already linked. Start adding your parameters.
