This Months Tips & Tricks Focus Is On: Opening and placing files within an Inventor assembly
How can you quickly open or place multiple files within an Inventor assembly?
Solution: When selecting to open or place files within an Inventor assembly, use the multiple select, now supported within Inventor 2008
As per the AutoCAD workflow, it is now possible to multiple select files within Inventor 2008 in order to either open them or place them within an Inventor assembly. Whilst having the ‘Open’ or ‘Place Component’ tool dialog box shown on screen use the ‘Shift’ key to multiple select files required and then select ‘Open’
Another good way to place multiple components is utilising Windows Explorer.
To quickly open Windows Explorer press the ‘Windows Logo’ key and select the letter ‘E’. Navigate to the files you require, then using standard Windows functionality. Multiple select the files you require and drag and drop them into your assembly.
