This Months Tips & Tricks Focus Is On:

Create an adaptive spring


We often get asked by customers whether it's possible to create a spring that can adapt, they want the spring to compress and uncompress in the assembly environment to replicate its actions in the real world and maybe even at the same time record this action.

Using only the coil command it is not possible to do this but if use the extrude command in addition to this we can! We have created a simple example of a spring which is then constrained to two plates in the assembly environment and compressed using the drive constraint feature. Don't just think of this adaptive example as only for springs this can be adapted for various needs.
